Reflection

Note to future self: Drink the Kool Aid.

Or, if you don't drink the Kool Aid, make sure that you have the glass in your hand and that you aren't making fun of the people who are falling like flies. Oh well, lesson learned: don't reject the advances of female employers who have say over your career.

On Friday, I had a professional intervention based on my unprofessional conduct. While all the facts were technically valid, they were misleading, had information omitted, and were not able to actually be discussed in the least. The final message that I got was, "to respect the decisions of the Denver Teaching Fellows as final and not question them." Ah, nothing says like effective leadership like, "don't question me, I'm right."

Oh well, I now have to go to a series of meetings and shuck and jive for the people who are going to pay me. And, pay me they will. Believe me, if you want to challenge me to a pissing contest, I'll throw down. And I'm going to smile extra wide and do everything just right, but you can guarantee that I will never stop pissing. Bitches.

Anyway, I had to write a reflective paper about my unprofessional behavior. It's super deep, reflection-y, and brings up my growing up below the poverty line, so, it's a guaranteed "I learned my lesson" paper. And, I did learn my lesson. I can assure you that I will be nothing, but professional for the rest of my time at DTF.

I just feel so bad for their loss.

PS-I just finished Snooki's book, "A Shore Thing." If you want to read some meaningless garbage, that has its real apex when Snooki almost shits herself in the club, then I'd read it. If you have self-respect, it's probably not the best. However, it genuinely is a conversation starter and a ton of people talked to me about it. Thanks, so much Denver Public Library.

  1. You have to post that reflective essay. I got put on an 'action plan' because when I had my teaching observation, my class erupted into complete chaos.
