Long weekends are dangerous. Here's the recap:
Friday:
One of my good friends, Chrissy, went back to PA. Don't worry folks, she's vowed to come back for some hipster adventures. Chrissy was here for about two weeks, but we only got to hang out a few times. Alas, it's tough to balance friends with work and other obligations, but I'm happy that I was able to hang around one of my favorite vegan ladies.
Other news on Friday? I brought out my absinthe from Hungary and had a fun night. Inappropriate highlights include a potential carjacking and bad dancing.
Saturday:
You know what is pictured to the left? A friggin' awesome care package from my friggin' awesome father.
My Dad totally took my side over the corrupt dentist and sent me an electronic toothbrush with some protein bars (as clearly stated in my ideal care package blog post).
I was pretty pumped because my Dad isn't a care package type..so it was nice that he did something new! (This was my new year's resolution for him... Because 20-something yinzers know it all and make resolutions for the people who still have to pay their bills sometimes.)
Outside of a bomb.com care package, I also made a trek over to Goodwill to drop off some clothes.
One of my resolutions was to minimize the possessions in my life, and I'm very proud to say that I have kept it so far. (I'm also still pescatarian, but that shit is getting old.)

What I donated to Goodwill:
-7 button-up shirts
-4 sweaters
-3 pairs of dress pants
-1 pair of jeans
-2 pairs of athletic shorts
-3 belts
-3 books
-1 pair of sandals
I chose not to go out on Saturday. This was a wise choice. Namely, because I broke my phone during Friday's antics (read: getting into my elevator) and didn't have anyone's number.
Sunday
Sunday was my friend, Rock's (fake name), 29th birthday.
First and foremost, I have friends that are 29. Isn't that strange?
And also, please look at the above picture...that is what I looked like. I don't think that it was anything special, by any means. At no point during the getting ready process did I think, "damn boy, you be lookin' good to-night."
But, the entire night I got hit on. A lot. And I'm not used to that. I felt like a trollop of some kind, but I don't think that I did anything that was exceptionally worthy of getting hit-on.
One noteworthy thing: I did bake cupcakes. If you ever want people to instantly love you: bring in delicious homemade baked goods to an arcade bar. (We went back to 1 up.) Seriously, I think we all could have shat on the floor and punched people, because all the security guards loved my noms.
I dd'ed the entire night. (DD is awesome with boys, it sucks with girls.) And it was fun to grab 3 AM non-drunk food at Tom's Diner. Seriously, Tom's has the most amazing chili cheese fries with vegetarian green chili....totally worth the drunk people being crazy up in my grill.

Monday
My organization was supposed to be a part of the Martin Luther King marade, but no one actually showed up. Luckily, I went and walked around to all of the other people in the progressive movement and made an appearance. Even better, I met up with a friend for brunch and didn't have to walk in stony silence through the streets of Denver.
After brunch, we went to Target and I bought some really clever organization solutions for my piles of kindergarten material. While it is unlikely that I'm ever going to teach again, I do hope to one day be a kickass cousin and/or uncle. I'd probably need to be in the same time zone, but whatever...at least I have the containers now.
Sadly, I did work on Monday for a few hours as I watched Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead (total rubbish). It was simple data verification/basic analysis, but it made my Tuesday go so much easier.
